A Assocation of Lighthouse Keepers The Association of Lighthouse Keepers provides a forum for everyone interested in lighthouses, lightships and maritime aids to navigation. Despite its name, being a lighthouse keeper is not a requirement for joining the Association, although a number of serving and former keepers are members. Whatever your interest in lighthouses, you can join the ALK! Whatever your interest, background, age or ability, you can be assured of a warm welcome.

The Commissioners of Irish Lights is a maritime organisation delivering an essential safety service around the coast of Ireland, protecting the marine environment, and supporting the marine industry and coastal communities.

The Dutch Lighthouse Association maintains close ties with organizations and bodies that play a role in the management of operational and deactivated lighthouses. The association can rely on the expertise of experts in the field and is therefore able to provide solicited and unsolicited advice to those who would benefit from it. Some lighthouses offer guests the opportunity to become temporary keepers as part of a volunteer programme.

They are an independent Charitable Trust (SCO23118) and a Company Limited by Guarantee (154337), dedicated to preserving the industrial and social history of Scottish Lighthouses. They are supported by Aberdeenshire Council and other partner organisations. You can support us too, by volunteering or giving a donation. Both are always highly appreciated.

Marine Traffic - Global Ship Traking On this site you can follow all ships around the world. The AtoN (such as lighthouses) can also be shown. They also have an extensive photo collection of ships and lighthouses.
Maritime Safety Information (PUB 114) The List of Lights, Radio Aids and Fog Signals is published in seven (world)volumes, as Publication numbers 110 through 116. Publication 114 is interesting for Scotland. Each volume contains lights and other aids to navigation that are maintained by or under the authority of foreign governments. Each volume corresponds to a defined geographic region, and contains more complete information about the navigational aids than can be conveniently shown on nautical charts. New editions are published annually for every volume.

N Northern Lighthouse Board they have provided a vital safety service to mariners since 1786 and are responsible for the superintendence and management of all lights, buoys and beacons within Scottish and Isle of Man waters*. Our service makes a significant contribution to the prevention of accidents and incidents around the coastline, safeguarding not only lives and property, but also protecting our precious marine environment.
